Here at ABC not only do we hire out our community room for many groups in the local area, but we are also involved in the local community.






The Douglas Method is delivered through one to one sessions but more uniquely within a class situation.   Typically, Pilates, Personal Training and other types of fitness classes do not give corrective exercises to participants. Instead, they try to accommodate a range of problems by offering modifications and adaptations (some of which can cause other issues).


The result of this is that you do not progress beyond a certain level.                                                      

The Douglas Method is all about understanding the root of your injuries, and other physical conditions, correcting where possible, and from there helping you progress to optimum physical function.  


Due to the nature of this approach, “drop-in” places are not available in classes, and clients are required to sign up for a 10 week rolling programme     (This also means that your place is guaranteed even where I have a waiting list for class places.)  The fee of £70 payable at the first class, by cash or cheque, whichever you prefer.  You can join the classes at any time,  but *please check availability* with me first!


Please also be aware that, depending on your fitness issues, you may need the in-depth attention of one-to-one consultation time, rather than (or prior to) participating in a class – the best thing to do is to have a chat with me about it and we can decide together what the best way forward is.

Swim West Lothian


Swim West Lothian Lessons have been working in partnership with ABC nursery to deliver swimming lessons to the children of ABC nursery. We have been working with ABC nursery since the Summer of 2015 and have seen all the children progress well. Learning new skills in a fun/safe environment, keeping them safe in the knowledge that they have learned some water safety skills as well as keeping fit while swimming. Our Swimming lessons are available 49 weeks a year from ages 3 ½ years up. Our lessons are from complete beginners to pre club level and we also offer skim skills and rookie lifeguard. SWIM WEST LOTHIAN LESSON PROGRAMME is made up of teachers from our 6 member clubs – Aquanauts ( Livingston), Bathgate, Broxburn, Fauldhouse, Livingston District Dolphins and Trojans (Whitburn).  We deliver Scottish swimming levels 1-8.

James Young High School – Friday Afternoons 1pm-4.40pm

Deans Community High School – Saturday mornings 10.30-12.15

Armadale Academy Saturday morning -   9am – 11am.

Here is why your child should Learn to swim as early as possible

Drowning is the 2nd leading cause of unintentialal injury related death. Its absolutely crucial that kids know how to swim at an early age, there is water all around us.  Making sure your child is comfortable in and around water is essential for their safety.

Swimmins is low impact as it is performed in the water The value of teamwork is learned along wiith individuality Team aspect is the greatest aspect of why swimming is special – you learn self-motification and goal setting/ reaching.


Time management

Time management is a vauluable skill, you learn it at an early age and this skill will cary you though years of swimming.

All 4 strokes involve working diferent muscle groups.

Parents with hildren with developmental disabilities find that increased activities such as swimming inprove family connection.   Swimming improves physical and mental health.
